Daimajin Kanon – 14
January 16th, 2012 at 3:13Torrent HD | Torrent SD | DDL HD | DDL SD
This is a 21st Century fable; the story of a girl who struggled with her faith in people, then used her singing voice to summon a miracle. And by “miracle”, I mean a big-ass stone giant who beats spirits for a living. Or beat, actually. All he does nowadays is sit on some mountain, watching the days go by. Midcentury crisis, I guess.
So originally this was released over some other blog, but in order to make torrents/muxes more accessible and blackmail myself into going faster, I brought it up here instead. Same staff, different name, and more torrents to go with it! (hopefully)
Most of you are probably new to this. If you’re interested in catching up with the other 13 episodes, you can grab the previous scripts from here and get the raws from here. Alternatively, there are torrents. First one’s not so dead now thanks to Woggles and Draz. The second, which is a hardcoded and smaller version by one jai009, is slightly more dead and it’s going to be hecka slow tonight.
Episode notes after the cut cuz this is gonna get long
- I tweaked the style a bit, the main dialogue font is a bit bolder and it’s got some more vertical padding. Other than that, it’s the same fonts as usual.
- Yes, I am well aware that the script’s signs fuck themselves if you’re using the 720p raw. I’ll release an extra copy of the script later when I’m less dead.
- Also yes I know there are 720p raws for this. Read above for the reason why I’m doing the SD instead of the 720p tonight.
- There is a song that was omitted due to being in some weird dialect Kou couldn’t decipher. If Kou or Heat ever figure it out, or somebody else does, I’ll make sure to edit it in the episode.
For actual insights on this episode’s contents, go read Kou’s blog.
With all due thanks to Kou, Lynxy, and Heat for their help~

oh hey this thing I did muxes for back in june.
it’s back
Biggest advantage of moving Kanon subs here – now I actually know the subs exist!
How about Winspector ?
I don’t think the translators are interested on that one, sorry.
Ok.
How about I made the timecodes for it and you just translate it ? If you are interested, I will post to you the subtitle that have the timecodes.
I’m not a translator, sorry. I can’t force the translators to show interest in a show they haven’t seen, either.
Ok
I’ve already seen this series and loved it a lot.
Recommended to anyone who only stumbled on it now.
Thanks for continuing to sub it
Been meaning to watch this show for a while now, but was waiting for badwolf to finish it first, great to see that you guys are going to continue with the job.
Welp, it’s technically still me, so there’s no much difference there :V
Just had a V3 moment right there. Onore, V… IGNIS!
Daimajin Kanon is a great serie, thanks for the subs!
Idc about this shit where is GARO?!
wow fuck you
You’re terrible.
Greeedy prick.
Wow, I looked up the OP and I have no idea what to think. Singing, a Kamen Rider, flying spirits, a stone giant…? Is there a larger storyline to the series, or is it mostly episodic?
It is a large storyline so I can’t really call it episodic. If I did that’d mean there’d be episodes where the entire plotline isn’t advanced at all, and that’s not the case here.
However if you’re looking into the extreme stone giant action, you won’t see that until the later episodes. There’s some cool and high-budget fights in between though!
MFW i realised this is the restaurant used in gokaigers first episode O:

Ikechiyo (woman in orange) is played by none other than Hurricane Blue, Nao Nagasawa.
So i’m at around 2/3 of episode 10, you’re not in this for the action, but i tend to like those stories, and you get to see how most of the characters came to exist in episode 8.

I hope this is okay.
Un momento, ¿entonces normalmente traducías cosas a español latino con excepción de esto?
Anyway, I don’t know, is this more of a comedy take on toku?
I would define this as a supernatural slice-of-life tokusatsu. It’s got its comedic moments, but the first episodes were kind of depressing as they dealt with Kanon’s dissatisfaction with people. Things slowly pick up some episodes later though!
i was just talking about wanting to finish daimajin kanon subs or no subs the day before this came out. thanks, guys, you have made my week *______________*
thanks for subbing this im really enjoying it. will this become a regular weekly release?
I want to push these after superhero time releases. I have one script more or less ready to go, it just needs some typesetting fixes and the like.
this is such an interesting show. What I find even more interesting is how in Japanese entertainment, having people fight in monster suits is like a typical crime procedural in the west. Like it’s a normal thing to put on TV.
Uh guys the torrents completely dead.
Nevermnd.
